I have just watched the video "A Friend in Heaven" about the devotion to Pedro all over the world, and it was really beautiful! It reminded me of the favors - big and small - I've received through his intercession over the past couple of years - favors I failed to write about! Let me share a couple:
First, I owe Pedro the scholarship that allowed me to pursue my postgraduate studies. I was asking God for a way to pursue my PhD without the financial burden, especially since it had only been three years since I was declared in remission from lymphoma, and I wanted to avoid unnecessary stress. Throughout the application process – from filling out forms and requesting recommendation letters to finding a prospective supervisor - I sought Pedro's help. I deem being able to work on my research full time as a gift!
Second, I also attribute to Pedro’s intercession the funding I received to present and attend conferences in Vancouver and Tampere (Finland). Without that support, traveling to these places would have been impossible. Aside from the funding application, I even entrusted to him the visa application process, which was painfully slow- but in the end, everything came.
I'm happy to see so many testimonies of Pedro's friends and I hope to spread the devotion to him in my own little corner of the world.
