Over the years, I've received many favors through Pedro's intercession and, once again, he has not failed me. In a meeting with my supervisor, he insisted that I interview several experts to add another layer to my analysis. I was surprised by this request because I had intentionally framed my paper so that documentary analysis would sufficiently address my research questions. Right after that stressful meeting, I simply asked Pedro for help. I had no control over my prospective respondents' consent and I just told Pedro that I trusted he could ask God for me.
I then got to work, searching Google for email addresses and checking whether any of my contacts might be able to introduce me to the experts. I sent the last email invitation at around 6:00pm on Thursday and I tried my best to relax and just entrust it to Pedro's prayers.
Pedro worked quickly. The very next morning, I received three responses: all willing to be interviewed! I also found contacts who could introduce me to two more prospective interviewees.
Later on, when two of those experts didn't reply with their preferred schedule and remained silent for a week, I again sought Pedro's help. I even wrote in my journal: "Pedro, I ask for your intercession so that I may get a reply from [Expert1] tomorrow, and that [Expert2] may say yes to my invitation." I had a busy day, so I seemed to have forgotten what I asked for specifically because when I reviewed my journal notes this morning, I was surprised to see the note with its specificity. But I had this conviction that Pedro would come to my aid. He again did not disappoint because just a few hours ago, I received the experts' replies and their preferred interview schedules.
