I am a young university student from Lima, Peru. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when I was 13, and the medical imaging and blood tests for clinical checkups in my country are expensive. Thankfully, I have private insurance that helps me with the costs. However, the bureaucracy makes the process very slow, and often requests for additional tests or consultations with my doctor are unsuccessful.
Three weeks ago, I began experiencing inflammation and pain in my arthritis-damaged joint. When I tried to get the lab work done, my insurance company became uncooperative and even rejected all the letters of guarantee I'd sent. No doctor affiliated with my insurance company would sign my prescriptions. I was truly desperate as the inflammation and pain were increasing. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, I decided to entrust myself to Pedro Ballester, on the recommendation of a friend who had discovered his vocation to be a celibate member of Opus Dei.
I prayed for the prayer card before entering the medical examination. At first, they were against signing the letter, but I clung to Pedro's prayerful help, and in the end, they were able to prescribe all my clinical tests.
I attribute this favor to Pedro because, after being rejected so many times at various health centers and after so many tears, when I entrusted myself and said the prayer, everything was granted.
I thank you very much for sharing the devotion to this young man who, for me, is already a saint.
With the joy of being children of God and of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
FP (Lima, Peru)
