We were on holiday abroad with the family, and my 14-year-old daughter got upset because we hadn’t bought a little souvenir she wanted. She has been diagnosed with severe generalised disorder anxiety, which often leaves my wife and me at a loss as to what to do. For about a year now I have been praying to the prayer card of Pedro Ballester, asking for his intercession for her healing.

That night – the night before last, to be precise – I’d had an argument with my daughter because she wouldn’t be reasonable, and the atmosphere was very tense.

Not knowing what to do, in the early hours of the morning, I thought of praying to the prayer card of Pedro Ballester. I prayed it, and decided to speak to her to try and resolve the matter. I promised God that if He granted me a solution to the problem, I would share this favour. Then I thought of praying to the Holy Spirit to inspire my words. But then perhaps that would mean it wouldn’t be known whether the favour was through Pedro’s intercession. So, without further ado, I spoke to my daughter, gave her a hug and, calmly, using words that could not have come from me at that moment, I spoke to her to tell her how much we love her and to find a reasonable solution. She saw this and we all calmed down.
