Last month I came down with an ear infection. I went to see my ENT doctor and he said it looked like more than just a regular infection. He had me do a CT scan and this confirmed it was a cholesteotoma, a deep infection that had to be cleaned up via surgery called a mastoidectomy.

I had the same surgery over 20 years ago on my other ear. It was quite unpleasant and painful. Needless to say I was dismayed and terrified at the thought of having to go through that again. But no choice right !

My friends encouraged me to get a 2nd opinion. So I saw an older, more seasoned doctor and he disagreed with the diagnosis. He wanted to try a more conservative approach first, ear drops.

I did that for 3 weeks.  For the last 9 days I decided to do a novena to Pedro Ballester: I said his prayer 9x day for 9 days. I was also reading his story in those 9 days. This truly centered me and kept me calm and placed all my trust in him and Our Lady. I went back to my doctor today and Pedro came through for me. My ear is healed and clean. I cannot stop saying thank you. I promised him I would write this story to further his cause.
