I was moved by how his friends and family described how he cared for everyone and asked them about their problems or worries. I think the photo on his prayer card, with his smile, conveys all the joy he had.

As soon as I’d finished watching the video and found the prayer card, I began to entrust to Pedro a job-related matter concerning my 27-year-old son. I knew from the start that Pedro was the one who would intercede on my behalf, given how close he was in age to my son.

My son was in a very demanding job and, despite doing a good job, he didn’t feel valued. He wanted to change jobs but wasn’t very consistent in his search for a new one either. I asked Pedro to enlighten him, to guide him and to stand by his side so that he might know what he wanted to do with his life. I asked Pedro to lend him his smile during the interviews. This week, my son has announced to us that he is going to be promoted at work.

I realise that this favour isn’t related to a health issue, a healing, or a request of a spiritual nature or concerning conversion, but it was important to me.

I hope that one day Pedro will attain sainthood, but even if he doesn’t, no one will be able to convince me that he did not intercede in this situation.
