I am the mother of an 8-month-old baby girl who suffered a bad fall at home this morning, resulting in a head injury. My husband and I rushed her to the nearest paediatric A&E.

I prayed to Pedro Ballester before going in for the paediatric consultation and again later that morning, while we were in the so-called ‘Short-Term Intensive Observation’ area.

Anna is fine; after a few hours, the paediatrician allowed us to take her home. The haematoma has almost completely been resolved, despite the delayed application of ice (an hour after the injury).
