Last week, I went to Pedro’s grave in Manchester to pray for my nephew. He is three and a half years old and he has a drain from his brain to his stomach. The drain intermittently caused problems, making him lethargic, giving headaches, together with throwing up. The pain was severe and could take hours, days. And when malfunctioning it could take a period up to two weeks. The hospital tried to stay away from a serious operation, because of the risks. Last week however was so intense that everybody agreed an operation was needed. Also: The cranial pressure was increasing which at a certain level will cause damage.
I asked Pedro for help. I did not know in what way and what outcome to ask for. But I just knew placing it in God’s hands and asking Pedro to intercede was the right thing to do. Afterwards I had more peace. The next day after Mass I saw a message: even though Simeon had not been not categorized as most urgent, the surgeon came up to my sister-in-law, tapped her shoulder, in an optimistic way said he felt like doing the job, and off he went.
The surgery took 2 hours and was successful. The old upper part of the drain was removed; the new part was installed in a different location. The next morning after surgery they were allowed to leave the hospital and Simeon exclaimed twice on camera: “I have no more pain”. His headaches are over and so far so good, we hope this is a lasting result.
Thank you Pedro!
