I live in a centre run by Opus Dei in Valencia. In July 2024  I was entrusted with keeping the accounts for the centre where I live. The accounting might seem simple: recording the income and expenses of a house with 12 residents. But managing the accounts felt overwhelming for two reasons.

First, the person who had previously been handling them hadn’t kept them up-to-date, and his knowledge was limited. Second, I had a considerable workload, which meant more work and less time.

In August 2024, I was fortunate enough to attend a gathering with Pedro's parents who, especially his mother, shared many details of his life, It was a wonderful get-together, where I could perceive Pedro's reputation for holiness and the undeniable contribution his parents made to his path to holiness. I had listened to an audiobook of Pedro's biography, and I remembered that it recounts how he had to manage the accounts of the centre where he lived. I decided to seek his intercession.

And suddenly, after praying with the prayercard, it was like having a can of "Red Bull”, the energy drink. It gave me wings to do the accounting at lightning speed. And since then, he has helped me a great deal, not only to carry out my tasks but also to do them perfectly, quickly, and on time.

I am very grateful for the help he gives me and I continue to entrust myself to his intercession. Along with my accounting papers, I always keep a prayercard of Pedro, which I pray before starting the accounting tasks.

And my advice is that if you are appointed the treasurer of a centre of Opus Dei, go to Pedro Ballester, who will help you perform the tasks perfectly and finish them quickly.
