I would like to contribute to the cause of Pedro's beatification with the following story:
The day of the eighth anniversary of his death [13 January] I met a friend of mine and I talked to her about Pedro and offered her a prayercard for her to pray. She said that she did not believe in God and asked me to keep the prayercard to give to someone else. I insisted on her keeping it, saying that Pedro was also a friend of non-religious people. She then said that she would keep it out of consideration and respect for me.
One month later, I met her again and she told me that she had framed Pedro's prayercard and that he had already blessed her with a new grandson. So she and her daughter were very happy.
I hope this story is of some help. On the other hand, I think that my friend has not realised that now she cannot say she is a non-believer anymore, for she prayed to Pedro, and after this, I think she is going to continue doing so.
I think that Pedro did something more than blessing her with a new grandson.
