As a fellow student at the University of Manchester, I have prayed to him. In response, I feel consoled by his gentle and positive encouragement to persist. He persisted under conditions of severe pain and no doubt great suffering. He is an inspiration to me when I feel demotivated and his positivity and joyful presence in the "now" sustains me as it teaches me to not look too far ahead (I'm in my final year of PhD studies)! I draw strength from his courageous attitude to a life threatening illness which amazingly he ensured while undertaking his studies.
I also feel he has protected my husband's family in Lebanon which is currently at war. They have been living under threat of death and injury but have so far come to no harm.
Finally, at a recent important celebration of a particular sacrament of one of my children, a very peaceful atmosphere reigned. I believe the Holy Spirit was at work again and that this was in response to intercessory prayers of Pedro.
