San Pedro Sula (Honduras): Here are three favours, part of ordinary life

1. A few weeks ago (at the beginning of February) three people and I travelled by car from Honduras to Guatemala. Although the mobile phone system usually works without problems between countries in the same region, one friend travelling with us could not get her phone to work and communicate. At one point she tried removing the SIM card and restarting the phone. However, when she did this, the SIM card fell and during the almost seven hours of the journey that remained we could not find it.
When we arrived at the conference centre it was already dark. We searched the whole car using the light from our phones (we lifted the seats, the mats, etc.). Nothing—the SIM card did not appear. At that moment it occurred to me to ask Pedro (I said it aloud) and to search one last time. I do not know why (actually I do know—it was through Pedro’s inspiration) it occurred to me to look underneath the car in case it had fallen when we got out. Nothing there either. Then it occurred to me to look at the step of the car [which one sees only when the card door is open] and there, inexplicably, was the SIM card wedged between the plastic of the bodywork. We do not know how long the SIM card had been there, whether it had just fallen or whether it had slipped there during one of the stops we made. But immediately we thanked Pedro because we know that he interceded so that we could find it.
2. A few months ago I had a traffic accident with the van from the club where I live. Although I was not at fault, the insurance company did not want to cover the damage because they claimed that the traffic regulations had changed and that the driving licence I had (for light vehicles) was not valid for a vehicle with more than nine seats. However, we had not been notified of that change. In the end they agreed to cover the damage on the condition that within three months I obtained the new licence.
To summarise the story: I already had all the papers and certificates required for the new licence, but I could not submit them because the situation coincided with the presidential elections and nothing could be processed until the new authorities were appointed. When the new authorities were finally named, I organised everything to go and submit the documents. I entrusted the matter to Pedro.
When I arrived and presented all the documents—for the fourth time (there had always been some excuse why they could not accept them)—they told me at the National Traffic Directorate that the officer in charge was on holiday. Inwardly I asked Pedro to help me because I urgently needed to obtain the new licence, as the three months granted by the insurance company had already expired. I insisted with the officer who was assisting me and, although he said NO twice, at the third time of insisting (praying interiorly to Pedro), he agreed to help me. They accepted the documents and gave me the new licence. I am sure that it was Pedro who softened the heart of the traffic officer.
3. In January I placed an order for materials for the club on Temu (a Chinese platform similar to Amazon). I needed the materials for the first week of March. The delivery deadline was 25 February. As the date approached, although the tracking showed that the delivery company already had the package, it did not arrive. I began to worry because I tried to contact customer service but could only reach automated systems. The deadline passed and nothing arrived.
I began to pray to Pedro because I urgently needed the materials and, above all, I did not want the money to be lost. Two days passed and still nothing. Pedro’s first miracle was that someone from the courier company finally answered me (until then I had not been able to reach them) and told me that the package was indeed with them. That already reassured me. On 28 February I asked Pedro that, please, it would not be delayed beyond that day. In the middle of the morning the delivery service called to say they were outside the house. The package arrived in time for the planned activity.
I thank Pedro for helping me in everyday life.
