I am CC. I live in Sicily, in Palermo and I got your mobile number from Fr N, a priest of Opus Dei. I am a supernumerary, I am married to M and we have two children
I wanted to contact you to thank you because last month, unfortunately, my children and my husband were infected with Covid. While the children had normal reactions, a little fever, stuffy nose and loss of taste and smell, unfortunately my husband, in a very short time, developed bilateral Covid pneumonia and had to be hospitalised. I am a doctor, the only one who didn’t get infected was me, because the vaccine worked 100%, thank God.
My husband is young, and has no concomitant pathologies. We still don’t know how he ended up with pneumonia like this. Imagine how I was.
On Saturday I had to call 118 here, which is the ambulance service that took him to the hospital. And I said to Our Lady: “You’re taking him from me on Saturday, you have to bring him back to me.”
I called Fr N immediately and he sent me an image of the prayercard. I didn’t know anything about Pedro and I saw him like that, so smiling, so cool as I say, so great as I say; this boy gives me so much hope.
I started praying like crazy. Nine prayer cards every day, for the whole period and telling Her: “You have to bring him to me.” I prayed to Our Lady: “Bring him to me, both of you.” And I tell you that in one week my husband recovered in a way that is not normal.
The first miracle is that the pneumonia only took up 25% of his lung and not all of it. The doctors had told me: “Expect pneumonia to take up almost all of it.” He responded very well to the antiviral therapy, while others did not. He was with the oxygen mask only and did not have to go on to other things, nor to be intubated. And in a week he improved.
On 17th April [Saturday] he was hospitalised, and on the 26th, which is Monday, he came home again. He had been fine since the 24th, without oxygen, without anything, they only kept him to monitor him.
And that’s it. I wanted to thank you because Pedro was great. M arrived home, walking through the door; the ambulance brought him because he was still positive and here my son was positive. I have no doubt that Pedro helped me because that divine, smiling face helped me to stay alive during these days, along with all the love of the people of the Work and the love of the co-operators, of my friends. And I wanted to tell you about it.
Because if I had a son like that, who is in Heaven and does favours, I would love to be told that my son is helping in other parts of the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And I hope we can get to know one another. God has plans like that, so different, so diverse, but so great too, no? Maybe if this hadn’t happened I wouldn’t have met Pedro and I wouldn’t be here talking to you.
